Chemically Treated

Polyester films require a chemical treatment on the surface to modify the surface energy. When successfully modified, this process increases the ability of the PET surface to be adhered to. This can be very beneficial when trying to bond Inks, Adhesives, Resins (Aqueous or Solvent) to the PET surfaces.

Primary treatment is based upon a TCA (tri-chloric-acid) that modifies the molecular structure on the surface of the film, to improve surface adhesion.
